Intro to "An Inventory of Being"

The last piece I chose is my “Writer’s Choice”. It was the very first assignment we had in this class for the quarter, an Inventory of Being. We had to write a poem type piece that explained ourselves and our likes, dislikes, loves, hates, wishes, and goals in an imaginative way. Before starting this assignment I was honestly scared. It was the first week of English, I have this assignment due, and I’ve never been good at expressing myself. But as I was writing it, I started to have fun. I realized it was fun to be able to express and explain “me” in a creative way. The strength of this piece was my creativeness. I have always said that I was born without an imagination, but I defied that with this piece. My favorite lines that I wrote were- “My husband is my best friend and my companion for life. My son is special, amazing, and lives in his own world. My daughter is walking through beautiful fields, holding hands with Jesus”. This assignment gave me confidence in continuing to write throughout the quarter. I still get chills when reading it, and I hope you enjoy it just as much…
